Escrow Protection Guide

How MOXAT Keeps Your Funds Safe

A complete breakdown of our escrow system — from the moment funds are locked to the moment they're released. Understand every safeguard we've built to protect your money.

The Basics

What Is Escrow?

Escrow is a trusted middleman — but automated. When two parties make a deal online, there's always risk: the buyer could pay but never receive what was promised, or the seller could fulfill their end but never get paid.

MOXAT's escrow system eliminates that risk. The buyer's USDT is locked on the platform the moment a deal is created. The seller can see the funds are guaranteed. The money only moves when the buyer confirms they're satisfied — or when our admin team resolves a dispute.

Think of it like this: you hand your cash to a trusted referee. The referee holds it until both sides confirm the deal went well. If there's a disagreement, the referee decides who gets the money. That referee is MOXAT.

Without Escrow

  • You send money and hope the other party follows through
  • No guarantee of refund if something goes wrong
  • Disputes have no referee

With MOXAT Escrow

  • Funds locked until you confirm satisfaction
  • Automatic refund process via disputes
  • Admin team reviews evidence 24/7
The Complete Flow

How an Escrow Transaction Works

Follow the journey of your USDT from lock to release — every step explained.

Step 01

Buyer Creates & Funds the Escrow

The buyer opens a new escrow deal and specifies the seller (by email or phone), the amount in USDT, and a clear title describing the deal.

The moment the escrow is created, the full amount is instantly debited from the buyer's wallet and locked in a secure escrow vault on the platform.

The seller receives a real-time notification that funds have been locked and can verify the amount in their dashboard.

The buyer sets a custom duration (1–720 hours) after which funds auto-release to the seller if no dispute is raised.

Step 02

Both Parties Communicate & Fulfill the Deal

With the funds visibly locked, the seller can confidently proceed to fulfill their end of the agreement.

Both buyer and seller can communicate directly inside the escrow through encrypted real-time chat — no need for WhatsApp, Telegram, or any third-party app.

All messages are stored and timestamped, creating an automatic evidence trail in case of disputes.

The escrow terms, amount, and countdown are visible to both parties at all times — full transparency.

Step 03

Buyer Confirms & Funds Are Released

Once the buyer is satisfied that the deal has been fulfilled, they tap "Release Funds" — the locked USDT is instantly transferred to the seller's wallet.

If the buyer forgets or becomes unresponsive, the escrow's built-in auto-release timer kicks in. When the countdown expires, funds are automatically released to the seller.

This auto-release mechanism ensures sellers are never left waiting — they always get paid on time.

Both parties receive real-time notifications at every status change throughout the escrow lifecycle.

Step 04

Dispute Resolution (If Needed)

At any point after funding, either the buyer or seller can open a dispute by providing a detailed reason.

When a dispute is opened, the auto-release timer is paused — funds remain locked and safe until resolution.

MOXAT's admin team reviews the dispute, examining the chat history, escrow terms, and any evidence provided by both sides.

The admin can decide to release funds to the seller, refund the buyer, or arrange a partial settlement — ensuring a fair outcome.

Step 05

Transaction Complete

Once funds are released (or refunded), the escrow is marked as complete and both parties receive a final confirmation.

The full transaction history — including all chat messages, status changes, and timestamps — is preserved in your dashboard.

Funds are immediately available in the recipient's MOXAT wallet and can be transferred, used in new escrows, or withdrawn.

Security Deep-Dive

How Your Funds Are Protected

Multiple layers of security ensure your USDT is safe at every stage.

Instant Fund Locking

When an escrow is created, USDT is immediately debited from the buyer's wallet and moved to a locked escrow vault. Neither party can access or withdraw these funds until the escrow resolves.

Full Transparency

Both buyer and seller can view the escrow status, locked amount, and countdown timer at any time. There's no hidden state — everything is visible in real-time on your dashboard.

Encrypted In-App Chat

All escrow communication happens inside MOXAT. Messages are timestamped and stored securely, creating an immutable evidence trail that admins can review during disputes.

Auto-Release Timer

Every escrow has a configurable countdown. If the buyer doesn't release or dispute in time, the funds automatically go to the seller — so legitimate sellers always get paid.

Human-Reviewed Disputes

Disputes aren't handled by bots. Our admin team personally reviews all evidence, chat logs, and transaction details before making a fair, binding decision.

Complete Audit Trail

Every action — creation, funding, release, dispute, resolution — is logged with timestamps. You have a permanent record of every escrow you participate in.

Transaction States

Escrow Lifecycle & Statuses

Every escrow transitions through clearly defined states. Each status tells you exactly where your transaction stands.

Funded

Escrow is active. The buyer's USDT has been locked in the escrow vault. Both parties can now communicate and fulfill the deal.

Released

Buyer released funds to the seller. Transaction complete — the seller has been paid.

Disputed

Either party opened a dispute. Admin review is in progress. Auto-release timer is paused.

Resolved

Dispute resolved by admin. Funds have been directed to the appropriate party based on the evidence.

Refunded

Funds returned to the buyer — either via dispute resolution or admin action.

Expired

The escrow duration ended. Funds auto-released to the seller as per the timer.

Cancelled

Escrow was cancelled. If already funded, a dispute is automatically raised instead.

Fair Resolution

Dispute Resolution Process

Disputes are rare, but when they happen, we ensure a fair and thorough resolution. Here's exactly how it works.

When Can a Dispute Be Filed?

The seller did not fulfill their end of the agreement
The buyer is not satisfied with what was delivered
The deal terms were not met as described in the escrow
Either party suspects fraud or misrepresentation

Resolution Steps

1

Dispute Filed

Either the buyer or seller opens a dispute with a detailed reason (minimum 20 characters). The escrow is immediately frozen — no funds can move and the auto-release timer is paused.

2

Evidence Collection

The admin reviews the escrow details: agreed terms, transaction amount, duration, and the complete encrypted chat history between both parties.

3

Admin Review

A MOXAT admin carefully evaluates all evidence. Both parties may be contacted for additional information or documentation if needed.

4

Final Decision

The admin makes one of three decisions: (1) Release full amount to the seller, (2) Refund full amount to the buyer, or (3) A partial settlement split between both parties.

Fast Resolution

Most disputes are reviewed and resolved within 24 hours. Complex cases may take up to 48 hours. Our admin team works around the clock to ensure fair outcomes.

Automatic Safety Net

Auto-Release Timer

Every escrow has a built-in countdown that acts as an automatic safety net for sellers.

How it works:

  • When the escrow is created, the buyer sets a duration (e.g., 72 hours, 7 days, up to 30 days max).
  • Once the duration expires and the buyer hasn't released or disputed — the escrow auto-completes.
  • This means the seller is guaranteed to get paid even if the buyer becomes unresponsive.
  • The buyer can always release early — the timer is a maximum limit, not a minimum wait.

Important Note

If a dispute is filed before the timer expires, the auto-release is immediately paused. Funds remain frozen until the dispute is resolved by an admin.

Tips & Best Practices

Best Practices for Buyers & Sellers

Follow these guidelines to ensure smooth, dispute-free transactions every time.

For Buyers

  • Clearly define terms and expectations in the escrow description.
  • Set a realistic duration — give the seller enough time to fulfill the deal.
  • Verify everything before releasing funds — take your time.
  • Use the in-app escrow chat for all communication — this creates a reviewable record.
  • If something is wrong, file a dispute with a detailed explanation.
  • Don't release funds under pressure — you're in control until you confirm.

For Sellers

  • Always verify that the escrow is funded before fulfilling your end — check the "Funded" status.
  • Communicate progress with the buyer through the in-app escrow chat.
  • Share proof of fulfillment via the escrow chat to build a clear record.
  • Keep all conversations on-platform — off-platform promises can't be verified.
  • If the buyer is unresponsive, don't worry — the auto-release timer protects you.
  • Respond promptly to disputes with clear evidence and documentation.
